Even though mankind is different in culture, we are from one ancestor, Out of Africa, a million years ago. Therefore, no doubt, people around the world have some moral values.
Why could this happen? Our ancestors used to live in a hunter-gatherer society. They live in a band of brothers and sisters. They have to cooperate to survive and to reproduce. Accidentally, a band who chooses to conduct some morals rules will survive, and those who did not will vanish. For example, band members who shared their resources will survive. Band members who fought each other will vanish. And today’s humankind is simply descent from the band who survived and reproduced.
What makes this research great: It covers 60 societies around the world so it can eliminate cultural biases.
